after we torn the rockwall down this is what we did, it took a lot longer than we thought but it is now done.

That fireplace looks great, Matt. With the exception of the color of the tile, that is exactly what I wanted to do to my brick fireplace. Now that I know you are so good at it I will be sure to have the materials for you when you visit next time :) Seriously though, where did your parents get the mantel, was it special made?
